My own poem-The primary school days

Our school has a motto,
which is to think and grow.

As the bell rings,
Down we go to the netball court,
as fast as lightning,
to play soccer with bottles.

There is Mrs tan reprimanding
sweaty and smelly students,
commanding them to stand outside,
and they couldn't.

After a long teaching session,
could we play and play and play?
No! Supplementary was pre-booked,
as much as i knew.

Friends i had a lot,
but not much was truthful.
They think i am a fool,
but were wrong as i proved.

Hope you will like my poem...

analysis of a poem called The Son is in Secondary School by Affian Sa’at

The poet thinks that his shoes in the primary school days were very dirty especially when it is Wednesday.Maybe he had co-curriculum activities on Wednesday, thus, resulting in his shoes being dirty. The poet thinks that the scouts were very hardworking. Most of his schoolmates were malay and rich. They had malay chauffeurs to pick them up from school. The poet thinks that math was hard during his primary school days. The poet remembered how his teacher wore during the Chinese New Year. The poet played alot with his best friends during the primary school days.

CHILD LABOUR IN INDIA

Indian Government’s point of view about child labour:
Poor children in India begin working at a very young age. Many children have to work to help their families and some families expect their children to continue the family business at a young age. India has all along followed a proactive policy in the matter of tackling the problem of child labour. India has always stood for constitutional, statutory and developmental measures that are required to eliminate child labour in India. Indian Constitution consciously incorporated relevant provisions in the Constitution to secure compulsory universal elementary education as well as labour protection for children.Though most children begin working at a young age due to economic reasons, doing so allows them to break from some social constraints. India's policy on child labour has evolved over the years against this backdrop. The present regime of laws relating to Child Labour in India have a pragmatic foundation and are consistent with the International Labour Conference resolution of 1979.The policy of the government is to ban employment of children below the age of fourteen years in factories, mines and hazardous employment and to regulate the working conditions of children in other employment. The Child Labour(Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 seeks to achieve this basic objective. The government has made efforts to prohibit child labour by enacting Child labour laws in India including the 1986 Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act that stated that children under fourteen years of age could not be employed in hazardous occupations.
Human Rights organization’s point of view about child labour:
The Human Rights organization feels that child labour should not exist .They feel that is against our human rights although they are just children. The children have the rights to decide what they want to do and not forced to work at such a young age.The Human Rights organization have already taken action against child labour. They have been persuading the public not to buy certain brands of goods as they are promoting child labour such as the NIKE shoe brand.
My point of view about child labour:
I think that child labour should not exist as it is very cruel to children. It is also against human rights. We have the rights to choose what we want to do.Most of the children in India begin to work at the age of 0 -12 years old .The reasons are mainly because their families are poverty-stricken and they have lots of siblings to take care of just like Lila and Hari in the book called ‘village by the sea’ where their mother is sick and their father always in a drunk state, thus, their parents are not able to support the family and they will need to survive on their own.In conclusion,I think that child labour should not exist in the whole world.

Car knocks down rare deer

Recently, there is a newspaper article reporting that a rare sambar deer, once thought to be extinct became roadkill when it was hit by a car at dawn on the Seletar expressway(SLE).The driver was a tourist from Malaysia, and he was thought to have seen something 'floating'in the air.He had no time to react and hit the rare deer.No one knows how many sambar deer there are in the wild here.It was estimated to be left fewer than 20 in Singapore.

Japan will ignore bluefin tuna ban.

A recent newspaper article reporting that JAPAN would ignore any ban on international trade in Atlantic bluefin tuna. The ban was supposed to save the species from being extinct. Most European nations supported the ban.Unfortunately,JAPAN,which consumes three quarters of the global catch of bluefin tuna opposed the ban. This was a great impact to the bluefin tuna as they are going to be extinct.I hope that SPAIN,GREECE and MALTA will stop supplying bluefin tuna for JAPAN.

Recession saves brown bears

Recently, there is a newspaper article reporting that BULGARIAN brown bears have been thrown a life line by the economic crisis as hunters can no longer afford the high cost of shooting them. This is a very good news for those brown bears as they are spared from getting killed. But this can never solve the ploblem because economic crisis is only for a period of time. But at least this could help save a few bears from being killed.

JOURNAL ACCORDING TO MARY MALONEY

I was waiting for my husband to come back home from work on that day.I had already prepared soda water and whiskey for my husband to quench his thirst when he had reached home as i knew that that was his favourite drink.I had a six month old baby in my stomach...How could he do this to me!I am not wrong to murder him!He told me that he wanted to leave me for his work.I can't believe this!I thought its was just a dream and i might just wake up and notning had happened before. But did i realised that it was true...No!In the state of anger,i rushed to the freeze and took hold of the first object that i felt.Ah,it was a leg of lamb's which i had bought the day before to whip up a delicious mealfor my husband. But now,it shall be a weapon to murder him!As fast as i could,i rushed down holding the thin bone end of it with both of my hands as it was heavy.
Without any hesitation,i spotted him and swung the big frozen leg of lamb in the air and brought it down as hard as i could on the back of his head. Then, for a few seconds, the still body started to sway gently and landed on the ground.I began to think of the penalty for murder. Then i thought that death sentence could help relief my pain. However, what about my child that is still inside my stomach?what is the penalty about murderers with unborn child?
But for safety precaution,i decided to destroy all the evidence and deny about the incident.I called for police and acted out as if i was going to die and told the policeman that my husband was dying.
Then, the policemen came and questioned a lot to me,and i answered all of them without getting suspicous. Then,i treated them with my delicious-looking 'murder weapon',which was a lamb leg.I started to giggle when they had finished up the food as they were helping me to destroy the murder weapon. How dumb they were to do such a foolish thing even more is that they were policemen investigating in this matter...

Male child, love and lamb to the slaughter.Which do I prefer?

I prefer the story called LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER.I like the story because it gave us an idea that the Mary Maloney was a very good housekeeper and was also a perfect wife totally in love with her husband in the first paragraph. But in the end,the last few paragraphs gave us the idea of how shrewed, calculating, uncaring and emotionless she was after she murdered her husband. It gave us a twist in the story.hence i prefer this story the most.

Snakes wanted for leather and meat.

Nowadays, snakes populations are constantly declining, all because of men's action. We must stop people from killing snakes now or else there will not be any snakes left in this world!People kill them for their skin. This is atrocious. Why do you need leather for?To boast?or just wanting the snakes to be killed innocently? Some people are funnier. They kill snake for their meat.Don't we already had a variety of foods?Chickens, lamb, pork and even fish.Is it that they are curious about what it tastes like or they just find it that it is very thrilling to eat things that ordinary people does not eat?So please,do not buy leather made of snakes, crocodiles and cow.You can buy fake leathers made out of PVC.This can not only save the snakes and it can also save your own money.
